The I-29 Moo University Dairy Webinar Series continues Thursday, October 21, from noon to 1 p.m. CDT. The session will feature University of Minnesota Dairy Extension Educator Jim Salfer, who will discuss training and pre-training heifers for success in robotic milking systems.
Salfer, a regional educator with 22 years of experience, has led on-farm research on robotic milking and automatic calf feeders. His program helps producers improve profitability by understanding key management factors in modern dairy operations.
The webinar will share research-based tips on integrating heifers into automated milking setups through early exposure, positive reinforcement, and hands-on training to reduce stress and optimize performance.
The event is free, but participants must register at least one hour before it begins.
