A vehicle wound up in the front door of a business on Main Street in Sioux Center after a two vehicle accident on Saturday. Sioux Center police say that a Toyota, Sport Utility vehicle was heading North in Highway 75 approaching the stop light corner at 3rd Street Northeast. The driver of the first vehicle did not see a red light, because of the sun, and collided with a westbound vehicle at the intersection. The first vehicle ran off the road, and hit the Reichert Tax and Bookkeeping building on east side of the road. No serious injuries were reported. The driver of the first vehicle was cited for failure to respond to a steady red light.
There was an estimated 27-thousand-dollars in damage to the first vehicle, and 8-thousand-dollars damage to the second vehicle. The building sustained 1-thousand-dollars in damage.
