Valley Pullers, Inc. has donated $3,000 to Northwest Iowa Community College in recognition of the volunteer support provided by students in NCC’s Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program.
The students volunteered during the annual Thunder in the Valley event, held July 9 through 11 in Rock Valley.
Scholarships and Program Support
Of the donation, $2,000 will fund two $1,000 scholarships for NCC students enrolled in Diesel Technology, Automotive and Light Duty Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance, Engineering Design, Design Technology, Production Welding or Advanced Welding Technology.
Priority for the scholarships will be given to students from the Rock Valley area.
The remaining $1,000 will support needs within NCC’s Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program.
Students Help Power Annual Event
Thunder in the Valley President and Promotion Director Rich Rozeboom said the students and their instructor play an important role in the event’s continued success.
“This event is a true team effort, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who helps make it happen. The Heavy Equipment students and their instructor contribute many hours and a tremendous amount of energy, and their commitment is a big reason the event continues to be so successful. We’re also thankful to Northwest Iowa Community College for its partnership and for providing the opportunity to work with their students and dedicated faculty.”
