USDA Announces Deadline for One-Time Farm Payments

The United States Department of Agriculture is reminding farmers that the deadline is approaching to apply for a one-time financial assistance payment through their local Farm Service Agency office.

According to FSA officials, the agency is distributing $11 billion in one-time “bridge” payments to American farmers, along with an additional $1 billion designated for select commodities.

The payments are designed to provide short-term financial support while producers await longer-term benefits tied to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The funding is authorized through the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act.

Farmers who submitted their 2025 crop acreage report on time for eligible commodities will receive pre-filled applications, simplifying the process.

Producers with a secure account can complete and submit their applications online, as well as track both application and payment status.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 17th.
