On Wednesday, September 10, at 10:29 am, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 18 and Dogwood Avenue, two miles west of Rock Valley.
Timothy Lange, age 40, of Doon, was driving a 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty pulling a 2008 PJ flatbed Trailer westbound on Highway 18; he stopped to wait for traffic to clear at the intersection before turning north onto Dogwood Avenue. Debora Stashuk-Anderson, age 49, of Sheldon, was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger westbound behind the Lange when she struck the rear of the PJ trailer.
Stashuk-Anderson and a passenger were transported by the Rock Valley Ambulance to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley for treatment of their injuries.
Damage to the Ford F350 and trailer was estimated at $8,000; the Dodge sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.
Stashuk-Anderson was cited for following too close.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, and Rock Valley Ambulance.
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
