Two people were taken to the hospital following an accident Wednesday morning on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull. The Sioux County Sheriff’s office says that 23 year old Iris Mendoza of Sheldon, was driving southbound on Highway 75. 65 year old Kelly Kots of Ireton, was driving northbound on Highway 75. Mendoza lost control and crossed into the northbound lane and struck Kots.
Kots and Mendoza were both transported by Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of injuries.
Mendoza was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol and Sioux Center Police Department.
