Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident west of Sioux Center on Tuesday. The Sioux County Sheriff’s office says the accident happened at the intersection fo 390th street, and Garfield Avenue two miles west of Sioux Center.
47 year old Scott Knorr of Luverne, Minnesota was southbound on Garfield Avenue. 53 year old Shelia De Jong of Sioux Center was westbound on 390th street. The Sheriff’s office says Knorr entered the intersection, and the two collided.
De Jong and Knorr were both transported by Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of their injuries.
Knorr was cited for failure to obey stop sign/yield right of way.
Damage to Knorr’s vehicle was estimated at $25,000; damage to the De Jong vehicle was estimated at $28,000
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance.
