Two Injured in UPS Truck vs Car Accident in Sioux Center

A Sioux City man and a Doon woman were taken to the hospital after an accident near Sioux Center Tuesday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 12:15 p.m., 36-year-old Aaron Tweet of Sioux City was driving a UPS delivery truck. He had parked the truck on 370th Street a mile north of the Pella plant corner in Sioux Center. 73-year-old Donna Fedders of Doon was eastbound on 370th in a GMC SUV.

The report says that Tweet was in the rear of the truck getting a package to deliver to a residence. Fedders realized the UPS truck was parked and tried to stop but was unable to before hitting the rear of the UPS truck. Both Tweet and Fedders were taken to Sioux Center Health for treatment of their injuries.

Fedders was charged with failure to stop in assured clear distance.
