The driver of one vehicle and the passenger of another were injured in a traffic accident Saturday in Sioux County.
The Iowa State Patrol report states the accident took place Saturday, March 15, at about 6:15 pm on Jackson Avenue and Highway 60 in Sioux County.
38-year-old Henry Esquivel Villanueva of South Sioux City, Nebraska reportedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crossed into the center line.
This caused the car to strike another vehicle head on, driven by 26-year-old Jeremy Van Beek of Sioux Center.
Both vehicles came to rest in a nearby ditch. Esquivel Villanueva and a passenger in Van Beek’s vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol was helped by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Orange City Police Department, and both Orange City Fire and Rescue. Orange City Ambulance also helped during the accident.
