Two people were injured in an accident Friday evening, one-half mile west of Maurice. The Sioux County Sheriffs Office says a vehicle driven by 34 year old Omar Hernandez of Maurice was westbound on B58, west of Maurice, 23 year old Brooklyn Albers of Akron was also westbound, behind Hernandez. Hernandez attempted to turn into a private driveway when he was struck from behind by the Albers vehicle. Both Hernandez and Albers were transported to Sioux Center Health for treatment of injury.
The Sheriff’s office says that alcohol may have been a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
