Two people were arrested earlier this week following a drug investigation in Orange City.
According to the Orange City Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6:18 p.m. on Monday, April 6th, to the Hillcrest Apartments for a reported disturbance. During the investigation, officers developed information indicating possible drug activity.
Police say a search warrant was executed at an apartment within the complex. During the search, officers located and seized methamphetamine.
Authorities say 33-year-old Isai Alvarez-Ignacio of Rock Valley was found to have the controlled substance and was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Officials also report Alvarez-Ignacio had four felony forgery warrants out of Wisconsin.
Also arrested was 21-year-old Kristian Eduardo Rodriguez-Turcios of Orange City, who police say was found in possession of fraudulent identification used to conceal his identity. He was charged with permitting a license or identification to be used by another.
Both individuals were transported to the Sioux County Jail.
Court records show bond for each was set at $1,000 cash or surety.
It should be noted that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
