Two people were arrested early Sunday morning on drug charges. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jennifer Cowell of Sioux Center, and 22-year-old Anthony Nicholson of Ireton after deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 2nd Avenue Northeast and 11th Street Northeast in Sioux Center.
While investigating, deputies suspected that Cowell was under in the influence and discovered illegal drugs in the vehicle.
Cowell was taken to the Sioux County Jail where she was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a drug and second offense possession of methamphetamine. Nicholson, the passenger in Cowell’s vehicle, was taken to the Sioux county Jail where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
