Authorities arrested two people after a report of a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Highways 10 and 75 early Monday morning.
39-year-old Marvin Cax-Agueda, and 38-year-old Alma Barrios, both of Granville, were arrested shortly before 1:30am after officers found Cax-Agueda had an outstanding Sioux County warrant for sexual assault, and then Barrios lied to the officers.
Both were taken to the Sioux County Jail where Cax-Agueda was arrested on the warrant and Barrios was charged for providing false information to law enforcement. Cax-Agueda is being held on a $15,000 bond while Barrios was released on her own recognizance.
The investigation is ongoing with the possibility of additional criminal charges.
