NORTHWEST IOWA CAUCUS LOCATIONS
You’ll want to bundle up for the Iowa Caucuses Monday night – it’s going to be a cold one – but cold won’t stop most caucus goers. Republican Party Chair Jeff Kaufmann says he has faith in people’s passion to get out and make a difference, despite the cold. There are 1,600 precincts across Iowa, and it’s important for caucus goers to know where to go, and by what time they need to be there. Sioux County Democrats issued a News Release instructing their caucus goers to be in line or signed in by 7pm to participate – good advice for both party’s caucus goers. The Democratic caucus is different since Iowa Democrats will be casting their presidential preference by mail this year. Democrat caucus goers will also discuss and adopt resolutions for the county platform, elect delegates to the county convention and elect new members to the County Central Committee. Democrat caucus locations are as follows:
- Sioux County: Sioux Center Public Library
- Lyon County: Rock Rapids Public Library
- O’Brien County: O’Brien County Courthouse
- Osceola County: Sibley Senior Center
- Plymouth County: Le Mars Community High School
Republican caucus goers will vote for their party’s presidential nominee and elect delegates to attend county conventions. Republican caucus goers need to pay close attention to their caucus location as there are many, and it depends on which precinct or township you live in.
- Sioux Center Precinct 1, Welcome, Sioux Center 4, and West Branch caucus at the Terrace View Events Center
- Sioux Center Precincts 2 and 3 caucus at the Sioux Center Christian School
- The Alton, Nassau, Orange City 2, and Holland SE precincts caucus at the MOC-Floyd Valley Auditorium
- Maurice, Sherman, and Orange City Holland SW caucus at the Orange City Town Hall
- Capel, Grant, Lynn, Sheridan, East Orange, Floyd, and Holland north half, caucus at the Hospers Community Center
- Plato, Rock, Settlers, Sioux, Rock Valley 1, and Rock Valley 2 are at Rock Valley High School
- Hull & Lincoln at the Hull Community Center
- Hawarden and Ireton precincts caucus at the Hawarden Community Center
