Thursday Fire Destroys Truck Near Hull

Fire destroyed a semi-truck and severely damaged a shed near Hull Thursday.   A total of four semi-trucks were in the building at the time of the fire.

Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel says the call came in about 6:40 Thursday morning.  When firefighters arrived at the scene, they could see heavy smoke coming from the building.  Van Roekel says most of the fire was in the attic of the building.  The Rock Valley Fire Department assisted, as did the Sioux Center Fire Department’s aerial truck with the Boyden Fire Department transporting water.

Van Roekel says no injuries were reported during the battle, and the cause of the fire appears to have come from an issue with one of the trucks that was stored inside.  He says depending on estimates, the shed may be a total loss.

Firefighters were on the scene for about four hours.
