Three Area Colleges and Universities Will Hold Commencement This Weekend

The three area colleges and universities will hold commencement ceremonies this weekend.

Northwest Iowa Community College will hold commencement ceremonies at two separate times this Friday. 68 nursing students will graduate in a morning ceremony at 9:30 in the Northwest Iowa Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center. The Radiologic Technology Pinning Ceremony will be held at 10:30 in Building A, rooms 116/119. In the afternoon, 177 graduates will participate in the afternoon Commencement at NCC at 1:30.

Dordt University will hold their commencement Friday morning at 10 o’clock in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. There are 437 graduates listed in the commencement program, including those earning associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees. This is a ticketed event, but the ceremony will be made available via livestream. Overflow seating will be available for friends and family who do not have a ticket in the De Witt Gymnasium. The overflow seating will have live video broadcast of the Commencement ceremony, and programs will be available.

Northwestern College will award degrees to 363 students during its commencement ceremony at the Rownehorst Student Center, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Master of Education degrees will be presented to 129 students; another 217 will receive Bachelor of Arts degrees; and 17 will receive Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees.

An additional seven students will receive certificates of completion as graduates of the Northwestern NEXT program, a two-year campus life and learning experience for 18- to 22-year-olds with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

A baccalaureate service for Northwestern will be held in Christ Chapel at 7:30 Friday night.
