Sliders Pub has been named the winner of the first-ever Sioux County Battle of the Burger with its Southwest Barnyard Burger.
Organizers say the month-long competition generated 2,238 individual votes and drove $31,380 in spending at participating local restaurants.
The event invited community members to visit participating establishments, order featured specialty burgers, and cast votes for their favorite. In addition to friendly competition, the event was designed to highlight local restaurants and encourage residents to support small businesses during the winter season.
Organizers say the response exceeded expectations for a first-year event.
Beyond naming a winner, the Battle of the Burger showcased creativity across Sioux County kitchens, with restaurants developing unique, limited-time burger creations to earn community votes.
Organizers thanked both the participating restaurants and the community members who ordered burgers and cast ballots, saying the event proved Sioux County residents are willing to show up and support local businesses.
Plans for future Battle of the Burger events have not yet been announced, but organizers say the success of this year’s competition makes future installments likely.
