Sioux Falls Man Arrested on Several Iowa Charges

A Sioux Falls man has been arrested on a Lyon County warrant for theft and other charges, accused of driving a stolen pickup and making unauthorized purchases in Inwood last year.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Damon Clarambeau of Sioux Falls allegedly stole a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 valued at about $50,000 from Cherokee County. Authorities say he drove the vehicle to Lil’ Chubs Corner Stop in Inwood, where he used the victim’s stolen credit card to make two transactions for gas and convenience items.

Clarambeau was arrested last Wednesday at the Clarinda Correctional Facility in Clarinda, Iowa, on a Lyon County warrant.

He has been charged with first-degree theft, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, as well as two misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.

A preliminary hearing is set for October 24th, and Clarambeau remains in the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids on a $14,000 bond.
