Sioux Falls man arrested for threats at a Spirit Lake convenience store

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (KUOO Radio) – A Sioux Falls man was taken into custody after allegedly threatening to shoot and kill people and then blow up a convenience store just west of Spirit Lake.

A criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office charges 43-year-old Darin Naatjes with terrorism and trespassing. The document states that on Friday, June 7, Naatjes threatened to kill multiple people at Vicks Corner and to blow up the building. Naatjes was reportedly asked multiple times to leave but refused to do so.

Naatjes was arrested and booked into the Dickinson County Jail Friday night and his bond was set at $10,000 bond.
