Burger lovers across Sioux County will have a new reason to dine out this winter.
Sioux County will host its first-ever Battle of the Burger from February 1st through February 28th, a month-long competition featuring specialty beef burgers from restaurants across the county.
Twenty-three restaurants from communities throughout Sioux County are taking part. Each participating restaurant will offer a unique, beef-based burger during the month, with customers encouraged to try as many as they like and vote for their favorite.
Barb Den Herder, CEO of the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce, says the event was designed as a collaborative effort to support local restaurants while celebrating the county’s strong agricultural roots.
Den Herder says similar burger competitions inspired the idea in other Iowa communities and quickly gained momentum once chambers across Sioux County were approached.
Community members can vote for their favorite burgers by scanning QR codes available at participating restaurants. Additional updates, restaurant features, and voting information will be shared throughout the month on the Battle of the Burger Facebook and Instagram pages.
At the end of February, the restaurant receiving the most votes will earn a traveling Battle of the Burger trophy, along with county-wide bragging rights until next year’s competition.
The Northwest Iowa Chambers of Commerce presents the event.
