The Sioux County Board of Supervisors will consider final approval of proposed data center regulations tomorrow (Tuesday, October 27th), along with a separate measure that would lift the county’s moratorium on data centers.

The third and final public hearing on the proposed amendment to County Ordinance No. 1 is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Room at the Sioux County Courthouse, 210 Central Avenue Southwest in Orange City.

If supervisors approve the amendment, it will be adopted as Resolution No. 2026-41. The board would then consider Resolution No. 2026-42 to rescind the data center moratorium. Both measures would become effective upon publication if approved.

The proposed regulations come as PathOne Data Centers pursues a project in Sioux County. The rules address issues including facility size, water use, noise, and setbacks.

Supervisors approved the first two readings on 4–1 votes, with Supervisor Dan Altena opposed.

Tomorrow’s action concerns the county’s data center regulations and moratorium. Approval of those measures would not itself approve a specific data center project.
