The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of foreign objects in Boyden-area candy. The sheriff told Sioux County Radio on Monday that his office had received one report so far and that the investigation remains open.
The warning comes after families handed out Halloween candy on Saturday. The sheriff’s office said the source of the candy is unknown.
In a public post, the office said the objects included screws, tacks, and nuts. The packages appeared to have been sealed, and no injuries have been reported.
The sheriff’s office asks parents to inspect candy before children eat it. Anyone with information is asked to contact the office at 737-2280.
