The Sioux County Battle of the Burger is gaining momentum as the competition heads into its second week, with participation and ratings climbing sharply.
Organizers report that more than 725 individual votes have now been cast, a significant jump from the 239 recorded during the opening week. The number of top-rated burgers is also growing, with six entries earning average scores of 9.0 or higher.
The current top tier includes Sliders Pub in Granville, Late Harvest Brewery and 4 Brothers Bar & Grill in Sioux Center, The Train Station in Alton, Brady’s Pub in Sheldon, and The Roadhouse in Orange City. Organizers note the rankings remain fluid, and the list is not in order.
The early surge reflects strong engagement from communities across Sioux County, where more than a dozen restaurants are competing in the inaugural event. From small-town cafés to established local favorites, the competition has attracted burger enthusiasts eager to sample new flavors and support area businesses.
With two weeks remaining, organizers say the competition remains wide open. Diners are encouraged to continue visiting participating restaurants and submitting ratings, as each vote helps determine which burger will ultimately claim the countywide title.
