The Iowa Cancer Registry and the University of Iowa College of Public Health are hosting the Cancer in Iowa: 99 Counties Project to present county-specific cancer information and address community concerns in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
Speaking on Sioux County Radio’s Daily Grind Program, Director of Community Health Services, Sioux County, Teri Bos, explains that many resources and experts are working hard to understand the issue.
Bos explains that the goal of the project is to share the latest cancer data from all 99 Counties and to provide an opportunity to voice concerns or suggestions for improving cancer outcomes in the community.
Bos reveals that the most common cancers in Sioux County are more than just the most common ones statewide.
The online meeting for Sioux County will be held on Monday, September 22nd, at 12:00 pm. Local residents, public health officials, community leaders, and policy makers are all encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. You have to register for this event before attending by going to SiouxCountyCHP.org. You can attend the event in person at the Sioux Center Library or online.
