Sioux Center Tech Help Open House November 7

Sioux Center residents are invited to a Tech Help open house at the City Office to learn how to set water leak alerts and vacation utility alerts, see hourly utility use, and more on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.

Tech Help is a chance to learn how to use the new service for Sioux Center Municipal Utilities customers that shows a customer’s hourly use of electric, natural gas, and water services. This is available to customers by logging in through the municipal utilities’ online platform and also in the Sioux Center App.

At the Nov. 7 Tech Help event, customers can create an online account, access charts showing their hourly use, learn how to set up leak alerts and vacation utility alerts, navigate different features of the Sioux Center App, and more. The vacation and leak alerts may be especially useful for those spending winter months away from Sioux Center.

“If  you’re coming to the Tech Help event, bring your laptop, tablet or your phone along if possible – then we can help you get connected to your online account and set up alerts,” said City Finance Director Darryl Ten Pas.

The City Office is at 335 1st Ave. NW, Sioux Center. The Tech Help event is from 2-3 p.m. and will be come-and-go. Those with questions can call Darryl or Maggie at the City Office at (712) 722-0761.

People can also create an online account and login on their own at home. To do so, visit www.siouxcenter.com/account or click the “Pay a Bill” button on the www.siouxcenter.org website. Customers can also find more information there on how to set up water leak alerts and a vacation threshold alert.
