A Sioux Center man has been sentenced in a case of indecent contact with a child. According to a press release from Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle, the case started on September 21, 2023, when 49-year-old Donald Kirkbride of Sioux Center was observed by a third party, having inappropriate contact with a juvenile at his residence. The contact occurred over the juvenile’s clothing. The crime wasn’t reported to authorities until September 29, when Sioux Center Police conducted their investigation. During that investigation, Kirkbride admitted to having inappropriate contact with the victim.
Kirkbride pled guilty February 15 and sentenced the next day for Indecent Contact With a Child. He was ordered to serve 365 days in the Sioux County Jail which was suspended. Kirkbride was also ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of 10 years and further ordered to pay criminal fines, be supervised by a specialized sex offender probation officer for 10 years, submit a sample of his DNA to a state database, have no contact with the victim, and obtain a psychosexual evaluation successfully complying with any recommendations.
