Sioux Center man arrested for felony eluding

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man has been arrested on felony eluding charges after a chase in Sioux Center.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sioux Center Police Department, 18-year-old Raul Nicolas Diaz of Sioux Center is accused of not stoping for law enforcement and resisting arrest. He was arrested on Saturday.

In a statement, the officer says someone called law enforcement to report Nicolas Diaz getting in and out of his vehicle at the 16th Street and Highway 75 stoplight. The officer says when a county deputy was coming down the road, Nicolas Diaz fled the scene.
