Sioux Center Municipal Utilities has hired local Ethan Griffioen as a new technician in its Natural Gas Department.
In his new role, Griffioen will be responsible for operations and maintenance work across the local distribution system, including pipe construction, repairs, and leak detection. Utilities Manager Murray Hulstein expressed enthusiasm about the new hire, noting the organization is eager to see what Griffioen’s skill set will bring to the department.
A Sioux Center High School graduate, Griffioen comes to the position with prior welding experience at STI and Interstates. Griffioen shared that he is looking forward to working outdoors across a variety of locations throughout the area.
