Sioux Center Health will celebrate its 75th anniversary next week as the hospital reflects on over half a century of service to Northwest Iowa.

CEO Cory Nelson, who spoke with Cami Jo on last week’s episode of Healthcare Happenings on KSOU, lays out what the celebration will entail.

Nelson looks back on the longevity of the hospital.

Nelson says that when they set out to build the new hospital for $50 million, locally they raised $13 million for the project.

While Nelson is pleased to have the donations, and he admits that they are necessary, he says that the people they serve keep the doors open.

Nelson believes that trust is a contributing factor to the continued success of the organization.

Sioux Center Health’s 75th anniversary celebration will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 pm next Thursday (June 25) at the Town Center at Sioux Center Health, and additional events will be held at Crown Pointe Estates. Refreshments will be served.

Earlier this year, Nelson said that the hospital is looking to expand its surgery center and potentially add more specialty services.
