Sioux Center Health Introduces da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System

Sioux Center Health has taken another major step forward in surgical innovation with the addition of the da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system, the most advanced surgical robot available today.

The new technology makes Sioux Center Health the first rural location within the Avera system to offer the da Vinci 5, which enhances precision, control, and 3D visualization in minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Nicholas Mouw and Dr. Brooke Konz will perform robotic-assisted surgeries using the new system. Dr. Mouw says this helps lead Sioux Center Health into the future of healthcare.

Sioux Center Health CEO Cory Nelson said the upgrade underscores the hospital’s commitment to bringing state-of-the-art care close to home. “Having cutting-edge equipment and skilled professionals right here provides access to the highest quality care and best outcomes possible,” Nelson said.

Dr. Mouw added that the robot will help not only surgeons but also patients.

Alongside the new robotic system, Sioux Center Health continues to lead the region in surgical innovation — combining technology with the expertise and compassion of its medical team.
