Sioux Center Goodwill Celebrating One Year in Business Thursday

The Sioux Center Goodwill store is celebrating its first anniversary this week, marking one year of serving the community and inviting residents to take part in a special day of giveaways and activities.

The anniversary celebration is set for Thursday, February 19th, at the store located at 1481 2nd Avenue Southwest. When doors open at 9:00 a.m., the first 25 shoppers and the first 25 donors will each receive a discount card worth 25 percent off their next clothing purchase. All shoppers throughout the day will also have a chance to win a $25 Goodwill gift card. Free snacks will be available while supplies last.

Jacob Heller, Public Relations Specialist for Goodwill of the Great Plains, says the organization has appreciated the community’s support since opening its Sioux Center location last year.

Heller says the store’s constantly changing inventory has helped draw repeat visits from shoppers, while donations from residents allow the nonprofit to continue its broader mission.

Heller notes that every donation and purchase helps support programs that provide job training, employment placement, and community support for people across the region.

The Sioux Center store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Donations are accepted during all regular business hours.

The anniversary celebration will run throughout the day on Thursday, and community members are encouraged to stop in and take part.
