The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and area emergency personnel responded to a commercial truck accident early Tuesday morning on Highway 60 south of Hospers.
30-year-old Dylan Coyle of Manley, Iowa, was southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, a Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a livestock trailer loaded with pigs. As a result, the semi entered the median and rolled onto its side. Coyle was not injured in the crash, but the truck and trailer sustained about $350,000 in damage.
Coyle was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance, Iowa Department of Transportation Highway Department, and area farmers who assisted with gathering loose pigs.
