Sand, Lahn Meet Tonight for Governor’s Debate in Sioux City

Iowa’s candidates for governor will meet in Sioux City tonight (Wednesday, October 14th) for a televised debate on KTIV.

Democrat Rob Sand and Republican Zach Lahn will take the stage at 7 p.m., with both candidates having brought their campaigns to Sioux County in recent months.

Speaking with reporters during his July town hall visit, Sand discussed why he wanted to meet with voters in a heavily Republican part of Iowa.

“I think it’s important for people to have access to their candidates and their elected officials. And it doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree with me.”

Lahn emphasized voter turnout during his Sioux County event last week, urging supporters to help bring others to the polls.

“We have to get our friends, neighbors and the people that we go to church with, people in our communities out to vote. We have to make sure that they know what’s at stake in this campaign.”

Tonight’s debate will originate from KTIV’s Sioux City studios. Moderators include KTIV’s Matt Breen, Gray Iowa Political Director Dave Price, and N’West Iowa REVIEW Managing Editor Justin Rust.

Viewers can watch on KTIV or stream the debate at KTIV.com and through the KTIV News 4 Now app.
