The City of Rock Valley has reopened Central Park following recent renovations.
Speaking with Sioux County Radio, Rock Valley City Administrator Tom Van Maanen discusses the process of launching the initial project.
He says the park was designed with accessibility in mind, adding more pathways and improved play structures — all with a focus on serving the children of the community. Van Maanen says the park improvements are independent of Rock Valley’s flood recovery work.
Van Maanen notes that there’s an addition that they are still working to add to the park.
He says the goal is to have all the shelters up by next April.
Van Maanen also mentioned that while the next project hasn’t been decided yet, the beautification committee plans to explore several possibilities.
