The 2026 Rock Valley Leadership Institute raised $12,079 for Rock Valley first responders through its Tour of Homes fundraiser this past weekend.
According to Ashley Feekes with the Rock Valley Chamber, proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will be split between the Rock Valley Fire Department, Ambulance Department, and Police Department.
Community support for the event was strong, with more than 250 tickets sold.
Leadership Institute Created The Project
Feekes says the Tour of Homes was developed as this year’s class project for the Rock Valley Leadership Institute.
The Leadership Institute runs annually from September through May and is designed to encourage participants to become more involved in the community through leadership development and local engagement.
Feekes says organizers hope participants continue using those leadership skills in their workplaces and throughout the community long after the program ends.
Homes Reflect Rock Valley’s Recovery
Feekes says organizers believed the event was especially timely, nearly two years after the devastating 2024 flood.
The tour featured a variety of homes, including newly constructed houses and homes renovated following flood damage.
Role of Homeowners and Community Members
Feekes says the event would not have been possible without homeowners willing to open their homes to the public.
She also thanked community members who attended the event and supported local first responders through the fundraiser.
