A single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon, September 11th, left one person dead.
A 62-year-old man from Rock Valley, Iowa, was driving a 1994 Peterbilt Conventional Semi on 288th Street near 486th Avenue, one mile southeast of Fairview, in Lincoln County, South Dakota, when it left the side of the road.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the semi left the right side of the road, then tipped and rolled down a steep embankment.
The driver was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries. The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
