Rock Valley Man Faces Multiple Felony & Misdemeanor Drug Charges

A Rock Valley man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges following the execution of a search warrant earlier this week.

According to court records, 30-year-old Ramiro Rangel-Palafox was arrested on April 1st by the Rock Valley Police Department after officers searched a residence on 13th Street.

Authorities say when officers entered the home, Rangel-Palafox ran into a bathroom and attempted to hide THC vape devices, which he later admitted were his.

Investigators report they located drug paraphernalia inside the residence, including pipes and marijuana in a grinder. A search of the garage allegedly uncovered more than one pound of marijuana, about 540 grams, as well as 169 THC vape pens. Officers also seized seven firearms and a large amount of cash.

Rangel-Palafox now faces multiple charges, including:

-Two counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp (Class D felonies)
-Controlled substance violation charges, including a Class D felony and an aggravated misdemeanor
-Possession of a controlled substance (serious misdemeanor)
-Possession of marijuana, second offense (serious misdemeanor)

Court documents indicate he was taken into custody, and a bond has not yet been set. No court date has been announced.
