A disturbance at a rural Sioux Center residence led to the arrest of a Rock Valley man Monday. The Sioux County Sheriff’s office arrested 61-year-old Rigoberto Hernandez-Corado of Rock Valley, after a report of an assault that took place at a residence five miles northwest of Sioux Center.
The investigation revealed Hernandez-Coraco was involved in an argument with a family member and roommate at their residence. During the dispute, Hernandez-Coraco became enraged and brandished a knife threatening to kill them both. Hernandez-Coraco charged a family member with the knife, attempting to stab him in the stomach. The victim was able to avoid the attack and was unharmed.
Hernandez-Coraco was taken to the Sioux County Jail where he is charged with domestic abuse assault with a weapon and two counts of 1st degree harassment. He is being held on a $2,000 bond.
