Rock Valley Police Chief Monte Warburton is warning residents about a recent scam involving fake jury duty calls.
Warburton says the scammers often pressure victims to withdraw money and deliver it directly to them, warning that if they report the incident to authorities, they could be arrested.
He says scams like these continue to evolve in the digital age.
Warburton encourages anyone who has fallen victim to a scam—or suspects one—to speak up and share their experience so others aren’t targeted. Residents are urged to contact their local law enforcement or the Rock Valley Police Department if they receive suspicious calls.
