Rock Rapids Man Pleads Guilty to Reduced Charges in Lyon County Case

A Rock Rapids man originally facing multiple felony charges, including drug distribution and sexual abuse, has changed his plea as part of a plea agreement in Lyon County.

According to court records, 38-year-old David Warren Jr. of Rock Rapids was accused of having sexual contact with a minor family member and providing marijuana to that individual.

Warren was initially charged with drug distribution to a person under the age of 18, a Class B felony; three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, Class C felonies; and three counts of incest, Class D felonies.

If convicted on the original charges, Warren could have faced up to 25 years in prison on the Class B felony, along with additional prison time of up to 10 years for each Class C charge and up to five years for each Class D charge.

As part of a plea agreement, Warren has now pleaded guilty to two counts of incest, both Class D felonies, and one misdemeanor count of first-degree harassment.

Court documents indicate that a sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
