(KIWA) — A Rock Rapids man has been arrested on burglary and theft charges after authorities say he entered a neighbor’s garage and took a leaf blower.
Doorbell Camera Allegedly Captured Incident
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, 70-year-old Harlan Pals of Rock Rapids was arrested Friday.
In the complaint, a deputy alleges Pals entered the attached garage of an occupied Rock Rapids home and took a leaf blower belonging to his neighbor.
The deputy says the homeowner had video footage of the incident from a doorbell camera.
Burglary and Theft Charges Filed
Pals was charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
He also faces a misdemeanor count of fifth-degree theft against an older individual.
Pals was booked into the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids before being released the same day on a signature bond.
