Renovation work continues in the West Sioux Community School District.
In 2023, voters approved a $15.5 million bond referendum for facility and learning environment improvements.
West Sioux Community School District Superintendent Steve Grond spoke on the Daily Grind yesterday, and he says renovations are taking place in both Hawarden and Ireton.
The project at Ireton Elementary School involves the construction of a new classroom wing, the demolition of an existing classroom wing, a comprehensive renovation of the existing gymnasium, new windows, doors, and other improvements.
In Hawarden, the project includes two new classrooms, storage space, and the removal of two portable classrooms outside of the building. Other renovations include lighting improvements, HVAC and electrical work, new windows, and more.
