ProActive Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab has expanded into its fourth Northwest Iowa community, officially opening a new location in Rock Valley.
A ribbon cutting for the Rock Valley clinic was held last Wednesday, December 10th.
Julie Arends, co-owner and therapist with ProActive Physical Therapy, says the decision to expand into Rock Valley follows years of serving area residents and recognizing the need for local, in-office physical therapy care.
Arends says both the local workforce and the community’s resilience factored into the decision to open a Rock Valley clinic. The practice works closely with employers on injury rehabilitation while offering a range of physical therapy services for patients of all ages.
Plans to expand into Rock Valley had been in place for several years, but were paused following the flood.
The Rock Valley clinic is located in a rental space across from Pizza Ranch and Cedar Rock. The location was chosen for its accessibility and ability to serve both community members and local industries.
The new clinic will be staffed by physical therapist Anna Metzger, who previously worked with ProActive as a student. Arends says Metzger and her husband, Ryan, are relocating to Rock Valley and are looking forward to becoming part of the community they will serve.
ProActive Physical Therapy was founded in Sioux Center in 2007 and has since expanded to Sheldon, Sibley, and now Rock Valley.
Arends says each expansion is focused on providing individualized, hands-on care, with therapists living and working in the communities they serve, while offering flexible hours to better accommodate patients’ schedules across northwest Iowa.
