Pella Marks 100 Years, Sioux Center Plant Celebrates 25

Pella Corporation is marking a major milestone this October as the company celebrates both its 100th anniversary and National Manufacturing Month. Locally, Pella’s Sioux Center plant is also celebrating 25 years of operations.

Founded in 1925 in Pella, Iowa, the company has grown from a small-town startup to one of the nation’s leading window and door manufacturers. Today, it operates facilities across multiple states and employs more than 350 people in Sioux Center, making it the community’s largest industrial employer.

Plant Manager Matt Mellema says the milestone is an opportunity to recognize the dedication and teamwork of employees in northwest Iowa. The Sioux Center facility has been active in workforce development, hosting students for career exploration, partnering with Dordt University and Northwest Iowa Community College, and supporting local schools with STEM activities.

Pella has also invested in advanced manufacturing technologies at the Sioux Center plant, including robotics and AI vision systems to improve quality and efficiency. The company and its Rolscreen Foundation continue to support local organizations, including Promise Community Health Center, Family Crisis Centers, the Sioux Center Public Library, and Hull Bright Start Daycare.

Across all locations, Pella leaders credit the company’s century-long success to innovation, collaboration, and community partnerships—qualities they say will drive the next 100 years.
