An Orange City man was arrested Sunday evening following a reported domestic dispute at a residence in the 800 block of Highway 10 West.
According to the Orange City Police Department, officers were called to a residence in a mobile home park at approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 4th.
Police say an investigation determined that an altercation occurred between a household member and 24-year-old Monico Alejandro Martinez-Ortic of Orange City, during which Martinez-Ortic allegedly struck the individual during an argument inside the residence.
Officers also learned that Martinez-Ortic allegedly prevented an attempt to contact law enforcement by taking possession of a cellular phone, interfering with an emergency call.
Martinez-Ortic was arrested and transported to the Sioux County Jail, where he was booked on charges of domestic abuse assault, first offense, and obstruction of emergency communications.
