An early-morning disturbance in Orange City led to an arrest and multiple charges on Tuesday, December 23rd.
According to the Orange City Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after 4:00 a.m. to the 300 block of 5th Street Northwest for a reported disturbance.
Police say Jeremias Joel Morales Chavez, of Sioux Center, had entered a residence without permission and refused to leave when directed by the occupants. During the investigation, officers learned that Morales Chavez had assaulted a female victim after entering the home.
While taking Morales Chavez into custody, officers located a THC vape pen in his possession. He admitted the vape pen contained marijuana.
Morales Chavez was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree, trespass – first offense, and possession of marijuana – first offense.
The Orange City Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
