Orange City Man Arrested After Crash

An Orange City man was arrested following the investigation of a car crash near Sioux Center early Saturday evening.  62-year-old William Manchester of Orange City was travelling west on 400th Street two miles east of Sioux Center when he lost control of the Chevy Trailblazer he was driving.  The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled onto its top in a creek.  Manchester was taken to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.

During the investigation, officers with the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office suspected Manchester was under the influence of alcohol, and when he was released from medical care, he was taken to the Sioux County Jail and charged with second offense operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated; additionally, he was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability (no insurance), fail to maintain control of a motor vehicle, and passing too near a bridge.
