Orange City Christian School Readies for Expansion

Orange City Christian School has started fundraising for a new addition to its current school building.

Established in 1904, Orange City Christian School (OCCS) has been in the same building at 604 3rd Street Southwest in Orange City since 1954.

OCCS Principal Jason Alons says the school has seen quite the uptick in enrollment over the past decade or so.

Alons says that they’ve had to use different spaces in the building for multiple activities, but the space has become more and more limited.

Alons explained that this will be the eighth construction project that this building has seen. This will be the second phase in the current project, which is titled Project Engage. Phase one began in 2019.

With the construction start date dependent on fundraising, Alons discusses the project cost and how much is needed to start the project.

Alons also said once construction begins, it will roughly be an 18-month project to complete. For more information on the expansion and to find out how you can donate, visit OrangeCityChristian.net.
