One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash West of Hull

One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday evening, January 22, at the intersection of Highway 18 and Grant Avenue, about three miles west of Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Blake Ten Haken of Hull was driving a 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty westbound on Highway 18. Twenty-year-old Reese Van Meeteren of Sheldon was driving a 1999 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado directly behind Ten Haken, also westbound.

Authorities say Ten Haken slowed and signaled to turn south onto Grant Avenue when Van Meeteren failed to notice the change and struck the rear of the Ford.

Van Meeteren was transported by Hull Ambulance to Hegg Health Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000.

Van Meeteren was cited for following too closely.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance, and the Rock Valley Police Department.
