An Ocheyedan man is facing a felony charge following an investigation into alleged inappropriate contact with a minor.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Lazaro Gomez Vega of Ocheyedan is accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile. Authorities say the report was received with assistance from Child Protective Services.
The complaint alleges the minor reported ongoing sexual acts, including inappropriate touching.
Gomez Vega has been charged with lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony. If convicted, the charge carries a maximum penalty of up to ten years in prison.
Court records show a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 14th, and a no-contact order has been issued.
As of the latest report, Gomez Vega remains in custody at the Osceola County Jail in Sibley without bond.
